McMansion-Eye View

The roofers were planning to work over the weekend, but it sprinkled a bit yesterday and it's been raining steadily all day today, so they didn't show up. Still, they got quite a bit accomplished on Friday, so Josh and I took advantage of the weekly Open House at the McMansion 2 doors down to get a nice view of what they'd done so far.
You can see 4 of our 5 solatubes poking up out of the roof. They'll use those wooden boxes that Jim was making the other day -- and that we used as 'chairs' on Friday -- to create a frame around each dome that they can flash and tile around.

You can also see the dark patch on the side of the house where the arched window for the master bathroom has yet to be installed. That window hasn't arrived yet, and the stucco guys have to wait until it's in before they can apply the stucco in that area.

While I'm still not happy to have an oversized, overpriced, vacant McMansion on my block, it is handy to be able to pop in on a Sunday afternoon to get a good view of my roof...
